Introduction

What is personal data and who is a data subject?

Personal data is information that can be used to determine the identity of a natural person (hereinafter “data subject” or you when directly addressed). This includes information such as your name, your address, possibly the IP address assigned to you by your ISP (Internet service provider), your telephone number or your email address. Personal data also includes information about characteristics that express the physical, physiological, genetic, psychological, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person. A data subject is any identified or identifiable natural person whose personal data is processed by the data controller, in this case by us.

What is the processing of personal data?

Processing is any process or series of processes in which personal data is processed. This includes collecting, recording, organizing, classifying, storing, adapting or changing, reading out, querying, using, disclosing by transmission, dissemination or any other form of provision, comparing or linking, the restriction, deletion or destruction of personal data. It is irrelevant whether the processing is carried out with or without automated procedures. When we talk about restricting processing, this means marking stored personal data with the aim of restricting their future processing.

Who is responsible?

We are responsible for the operation of our website. This responsibility lies with us, as we decide on the purpose and means of processing personal data and are therefore responsible by law. If we transfer the data to another natural or legal person, authority, institution or other body for further processing on our behalf, this person acts as a processor for us. However, for you, we are and remain the controller of your personal data. If someone is involved in the processing process who is neither the controller or processor nor the data subject, then they are considered a third party.

Consent

Consent is any declaration or expression of will you make voluntarily, with which you give your informed and unambiguous agreement to the processing of your personal data for the defined purpose.

Routine deletion and blocking of personal data

We only process and store your personal data for the period of time necessary to achieve the purpose of storage or if this is provided for by the European legislator or another legislator in laws or regulations to which we are subject became. If the purpose of storage no longer applies or if a storage period prescribed by the European legislator or another responsible legislator expires, the personal data will be blocked or deleted routinely and in accordance with legal regulations.

Rights in connection with your personal data

The European legislator has given you a number of rights in relation to your rights to your data. The scope and, if applicable, restrictions in the exercise of your rights arise from the legal basis.

  • You have the right at any time to request confirmation from us as to whether we are processing personal data relating to you.
  • You have the right to receive detailed information from us at any time about the personal data stored about you and a copy of this information.
  • You can request the immediate correction and completion of incorrect personal data concerning you.
  • You have the right to request that the personal data concerning you be deleted immediately if the processing is no longer necessary or a legal reason requires this.
  • You can request that processing be restricted if the conditions for this are met.
  • You can request that we provide you with your personal data stored by us in a structured, common and machine-readable format. You can also request that we transfer the data directly to another person responsible without hindrance, as long as it is technically feasible and it does not affect the rights of other people.
  • You have the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you for reasons relating to your particular situation. This also applies to profiling based on these provisions. This right to object also applies in the event that we engage in direct advertising or store the data for scientific or historical research purposes or for statistical purposes.
  • You have the right not to have decisions that affect you based solely on the results of automated processing, including profiling.
  • You have the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data at any time. If you have any questions about exercising your rights in connection with your personal data, you can contact our employees and the responsible parties in this statement at any time. We will carry out the implementation immediately, taking into account the applicable laws. If you have any further questions about data protection, you can contact us and our employees directly at any time. If you still feel the need to exercise your right to complain to the data protection supervisory authority, you can do so at the authority responsible for us, “The State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg”, Königstraße 10a, 70173 Stuttgart, https://www.baden-wuerttemberg.datenschutz.de do.
